What if your new website could pay for itself?

At Current, we don't just make websites beautiful, we make them functional and effective. Your website should be your primary marketing piece; selling and promoting while you sleep.

Compare E-commerce Website Options

We've worked with virtually every website builder available and now recommend one of two options based on your individual needs: WordPress or Shopify. Because everyone’s website needs are different, we recommend starting with a free consultation. A member of our team will listen to your business goals and craft a custom proposal.

WordPress

Ideal for: Online-based businesses, print-on-demand and drop-shipping, and businesses where e-commerce is an add-on to an existing business.

... Basically, WordPress is like a souped up truck. It has all the custom functionality you need, but requires regular maintenance to keep all the parts in working order.

Shopify

Ideal for: Brick & mortar / online hybrids, restaurants, and businesses with multiple locations

... Basically, Shopify is like a rental car. It works perfectly, but requires ongoing payments and lacks niche functionality. A little less custom, a little more reliable.

FAQ's

What is e-commerce web design?

E-commerce web design is the process of creating an online store where customers can browse products and shop. An E-commerce store can sell more than just physical products. We can help you set up a store that sells digital goods, memberships, subscriptions, drop-shipped items, print-on-demand items, and services.

How much does an e-commerce website cost?

Our custom-designed E-commerce websites range between mid four to low five figures, depending on the scope of your project.

What platform is best for an e-commerce website?

There's no one-size-fits-all answer. However, I've worked with almost every website builder over the years and have found Shopify and WooCommerce to be the best. The right choice depends on your products, budget, goals, and how much control you want over your store. We'll help you choose a platform that fits your business rather than forcing your business to fit the platform.

Can you redesign my existing e-commerce website?

Absolutely. You don't necessarily need to start from scratch to have a better online store. We can evaluate your existing website, identify what's getting in the way of a good shopping experience, and redesign the pieces that need attention.

What features should an e-commerce website have?

At minimum, your store should make it easy for customers to browse products, find what they're looking for, add items to their cart, and check out securely. At maximum, I could write a small novel on E-commerce best-practices. Depending on your business, you may also benefit from product filtering, reviews, wishlists, subscriptions, customer accounts, shipping integrations, abandoned cart emails, and other tools that make shopping easier. Schedule a consultation and we can talk through what E-commerce solutions will serve you best.

How do I get more sales from my e-commerce website?

More traffic doesn't automatically mean more sales. Your website needs to make it easy for visitors to find the right products, understand why they should buy, trust your business, and complete their purchase. We look at the entire customer journey, from the first product page visit all the way through checkout, to identify opportunities to improve conversions.

Can you help with e-commerce website SEO?

Yes. Your e-commerce website should be built with search engines in mind from the beginning. That includes things like site structure, product and category pages, metadata, content, internal linking, and other technical SEO considerations that help search engines understand what you sell.

Can you connect my e-commerce website to my other business tools?

In many cases, yes. E-commerce websites can connect with tools for email marketing, accounting, inventory, shipping, CRM, analytics, and more. We'll look at the systems you already use and determine which integrations make sense for your business.
